Eno Peçi (Tirana, Albania) is an internationally acclaimed ballet dancer and choreographer. He was educated at the Ballet Academy of Tirana and the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera. In 2000 he joined the Vienna State Ballet, becoming Demi-Soloist in 2003 and Soloist in 2009 at the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper.
Since 2009, Peçi has increasingly focused on choreography. For the Vienna State Ballet he created works including Cut (2009), Exitium, Pavillon 12/2 (2012, 2015), Herzblume (2013), Petruschka (2017), and Wenn ich Groß bin, will ich… (2020). He choreographed the opening ceremonies of the Vienna Opera Ball in 2018 and 2020.
In 2023, for the Summer Night Concert at Schönbrunn Palace, he choreographed Maurice Ravel’s Bolero under Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Vienna Philharmonic. Internationally, he created Déjà vu (2017) for the Stanislavsky Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre (Moscow), staged Swan Lake (Acts I & III) for Theater Chemnitz (2019), and choreographed Daphnis et Chloé (2021). Other major works include Angel (SNG Ljubljana, 2021), Zweisamkeit (Győri Ballet, 2020), Muzg (National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania, 2023), and the world premiere of 4 (Dubai, 2024).
His works Exil (2015) and Déjà vu were staged by the National Ballet of Albania and the National Ballet of Kosovo, and presented at international festivals including Dance Fest Skopje and the International Festival of Contemporary Dance in Tirana. For the Origen Festival Cultural (Switzerland, 2014–2020) he created multiple works including Homo Sapiens, Apocalypse, and Artus.
In 2025, Muzg opened the Prizren International Open-Air Theatre Festival, and he choreographed a performance for the Austrian National Anthem at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Spielberg, collaborating with the Vienna Boys’ Choir and Vienna Girls’ Choir.
Peçi has also collaborated widely across gala and interdisciplinary formats, notably with pianist Maria Radutu (Piano & Dance, Vienna and St. Pölten), and created works for prestigious venues including the Burgtheater (Vienna), Palais des Festivals (Cannes), and Volkstheater (Vienna). He has been invited to teach internationally, including at Prague Ballet Intensive.
Honours and Awards
Peçi was appointed Honourable Ambassador of the Republic of Albania (2008). He received the Key of Tirana (2017), the Order of Skanderbeg from the President of Albania (2018), and the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art (2019). In 2023 he was awarded Premio Capri Danza (Alla Carriera) and received the Vienna State Ballet Anniversary Ring of Honor for 24 years of service. In 2025 he was honoured with the Premio Internazionale “Consonanze Artistiche” in Pietrasanta, Italy.
