Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina
Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina was established in 2010, on the 200th anniversary of Chopin, by the Kosovo Chopin Association as the youngest member of the International Federation of Chopin Associations, part of UNESCO.
The great success and appreciation by the larger audience in Kosovo turned the festival into a brand which is now traditionally held in the springtime, every year. This year marks the 12th edition of continued efforts to keep our audience pleased and for classical music to thrive well into the future.
“Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.”
― Frédéric Chopin

“The Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina is already a traditional festival of piano music in Prishtina, therefore its citizens are proud that this festival is named after the name of the capital of the Republic of Kosovo, thus represents successfully Kosova and Prishtina in particular within the worldwide community of art and music. Their dedication enriches our culture and the cultural life of our city.”
“Where words and writing are missing, there’s always the charm of music with beautiful compositions and sounds that penetrate deeply into the invisible and the unnamable. So, thank you for that”
“We have e very close bond in the field of culture and to cooperate with your festival specifically, makes me feel honored for being part of this cultural movement – if I might call it that”
“I would have said ‘No’ to any other offer, but I remembered the [Kosovar] people whom I admire and I was very curious to come. I wish I could stay longer and hear Kosovan musicians perform. Everything was organized better than I would have thought. The piano was exquisite because in a lot of places I have performed it was not good enough. I give them my praise.”
With its unique specifics and profile, this festival is completing the rich mosaic of cultural activities that are organized throughout the year. Ministry of Culture, having the mission not only to promote the arts and heritage of Kosovo but also the mission to enable the cultural and artistic cooperation of Kosovo and other countries in the world, is honored to support this festival.”
