Vienna-based Slovenian composer and guitarist Timotej Kosovinc is a laureate of international competitions such as the Guitar Art Festival Belgrade and Gorizia Guitar Competition. He has performed worldwide in major concert halls including Musikverein Vienna, MuTh – Theater of the Viennese Boys Choir, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, and Real Alcazar in Sevilla, and has appeared at festivals including Wien Modern and Iserlohn Guitar Festival.
As a soloist, he has collaborated with the Orchestra of the Slovenian Philharmonic under Marko Hribernik and the Austrian Philharmonie Marchfeld under Bettina Schmitt. His debut CD, The Good Moment (Contrastes Records, 2022; distributed by Naxos and Universal), features his own compositions and has garnered international attention.
Kosovinc studied guitar and composition at the University of Music Vienna with Professors Alvaro Pierri and Detlev Müller-Siemens, earning the Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Research honor award (2019) and the University of Music Vienna honor award for guitar studies (2020). Recent projects include composing Unheard Story for flute, cello, guitar, and piano during his residency in Prishtina, performed in multiple international festivals in 2023.
