Zamir Kabo, born in Tirana, is a classical pianist with an international career that includes performances in Albania, North Macedonia, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Belgium.
He began his studies at the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” Music Academy in Skopje, where he successfully completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance under the guidance of Prof. Boris Romanov (2006–2010). He then continued his education at the prestigious Mozarteum University in Salzburg, earning a second master’s degree in piano with top honors – summa cum laude. His artistic formation was further enriched through postgraduate specializations: in 2018–2019 with renowned pianist Eliso Virsaladze at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Italy), and in the 2022/2023 academic year at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels under the guidance of pianist Jan Michiels.
He has participated in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artists such as Jacques Rouvier, Elena Margolina-Heit, Bernd Goetzke, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Mikhail Voskresensky, Dmitri Bashkirov, Ramon Coll i Huguet, and Mikhail Pochekin, greatly enriching his interpretative approach and style.
Kabo made his international debut in 2007 with the Student Orchestra of the Skopje Academy, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20. In 2010, he performed with the Albanian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, interpreting Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini. He has since given concerts in Tirana, North Macedonia, Spain, and Russia. In 2017, he participated in a special performance of Mozart’s Lodron Concerto for three pianos with the Orquestra Ars Medica Barcelona in both Barcelona and Salzburg. He has collaborated with well-known musicians such as Lena Neudauer, Bertin Christelbauer, Leonhard Roczek, Oleg Arapi, Yuri Sobolev, Philipp Scheucher, Stepan Starikov, Wolfgang Redik, Franz Ortner, and others.
In 2010, Zamir Kabo began working as a répétiteur and piano teacher at the Music Academy in Tetovo, and from 2010 to 2013, he taught at the University of Arts in Tirana.
Kabo is the recipient of several important national and international awards, including Second Prize at the EPTA National Piano Competition in Tirana (2001), the “Absolute” Prize at the EPTA National Competition in Vlora (2005), and First Prize at the prestigious EUTERPE Competition in Bari, Italy (2014).
