Sihana Badivuku-Hoxha is one of the most renowned Albanian violinists. She began studying the violin at the age of six with her father, violinist Hysen Badivuku. She continued her education with professors Vanço Šolkov, Blagoja Dimçevski, and Pavel Vernikov, and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the P.I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow with Prof. Eugenia Tchougayeva, and at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany, with Prof. Young Uck Kim.
She has performed at numerous international festivals across Europe, North America, and Asia, including the Ohrid Summer Festival, Remusica in Pristina, Gubbio Festival in Italy, Varna Music Festival, Festival de s’Agaró in Spain, and the Deia Music Festival in Palma de Mallorca, as well as many others in countries such as Finland, Ireland, Canada, the USA, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.
Since 1992, she has served as a violin professor at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Pristina, and since 2008 also at the State University of Tetova. She was concertmaster of the Kosovo Philharmonic (2000–2012), the Albanian Philharmonic (since 2011), and a member of ensembles such as Vivendi, Musica Balkanica, and String Trio Kosova.
In 2000, she founded the Chamber Music Festival “Kosova KamerFest” and later established the ArsKosova Music Foundation, which organizes two major projects: the Kosova KamerFest and the ArsKosova Competition for Young Musicians. She has served as a jury member at numerous violin competitions in the region and co-founded the “New Millennium International Violin Competition” in Skopje.
Since 2010, she has been president of the European String Teachers’ Association (ESTA) in Kosovo, and has led masterclasses in Paris and elsewhere. She has performed in duos with renowned pianists including Lejla Haxhiu Pula, Maja Kastratoviç, Zana Badivuku-Basha, and Derek Han. In 2011, she released a recording of Brahms Sonatas with pianist Jouni Somero (FC Records, Finland).
In 2016, she was a guest artist at Spectrum Concerts Berlin, performing in the chamber music series at the Berlin Philharmonie’s Chamber Hall.
