A pupil of Franco Scala at the Piano Academy of Imola, where he still resides, Luca Rasca is the winner of numerous national and international competitions, including the London Piano Competition, Busoni in Bolzano, Palma d’Oro in Finale Ligure, Schubert in Dortmund, Scriabin in Grosseto, Chopin in Rome, Città di Treviso, Casagrande in Terni, and Viotti in Vercelli.
He performs actively as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, and has appeared in more than 20 concerts for piano and orchestra with prestigious ensembles, including the RAI Symphonic Orchestra, the Virtuosi of New York, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. With the latter, he made his debut at the Royal Festival Hall in London, performing Brahms’s First Piano Concerto in the presence of King Charles III of England.
He has recorded extensively for labels such as Arts of London, Fluent Records, Piano Recital, and Universal Music. A jury member in both national and international competitions, he has also been active in teaching for over 25 years.
He writes for Suonare News magazine, is the Artistic Director of the International Palma d’Oro Piano Competition in Finale Ligure/Donzdorf, and the Yapco Under 18 in Finalborgo, and serves as professor and director of the Atheneum Piano School of Finalborgo (SV). He holds the main piano chair at the Gioacchino Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro.
Since December 2015, he has been a Steinway Artist, and since 2022, he has been publishing with the Halidon Music label.
