Andi Duraku

Born in Gjakova, Kosovo, pianist Andi Duraku began his musical education at the Prenk Jakova Music School in his hometown under the guidance of Besim Qorri. He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance at the University of Prishtina, studying with Professor Lejla Pula.

Duraku has received numerous national and international accolades. Notable among them are the Grand Prix at the “Young Pianist” Competition (2012), the Absolute First Prize and Grand Prix at the “Ars Kosova” Competition (2017), and the First Prize at the Berlin Audition (2016), which led to a solo performance at the Berlin Philharmonie. He was also awarded a Special Prize at the Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina, granting him a recital opportunity in Bonn, Germany, and won Second Prize at the “Barleta” Music Competition in Italy. He has received awards for Musical Talent and Virtuosity, and has made numerous appearances on stages in Kosovo and beyond.

As a soloist, Duraku has performed J.S. Bach’s Piano Concerto with the KamerFest Festival Orchestra (2017), appeared twice with the Macedonian Philharmonic (2022), and has also performed with the Kosovo Philharmonic and the Ensemble of Gjakova. Most recently, he was featured in recital at the Cziffra Festival in Budapest, as well as in a special laureates’ concert in Berlin.

His international performance engagements include concerts in Germany, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Albania, North Macedonia, Hungary, and Italy. He has also participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Dmitry Bashkirov, Eldar Nebolsin, Giovanni Bellucci, Jérôme Granjon, István Lajkó, Christopher Hinterhuber, Stephan Möller, and János Balázs, among others.

Currently, Andi Duraku is a piano faculty member at the Prenk Jakova Music School in Gjakova and maintains an active collaboration with the Kosovo Philharmonic.
