Established in 2010, on the 200th anniversary of Chopin, by the Kosovo Chopin Association as the youngest member of the International Federation of Chopin Associations, part of UNESCO.
The great success and appreciation by the larger audience in Kosovo turned the festival into a brand which is now traditionally held in the springtime, every year.
This year marks the 15th edition of continued efforts to keep our audience pleased and for classical music to thrive well into the future.
“When music exists in the space between the notes, as Michel Foucault once said, our shared music speaks of the space we share as Europeans and as democrats — from the past, into the present, and toward the future; a space like that of Chopin Piano Fest, where music becomes a common language, with notes as traces of genius on paper and sounds in the ether that captivate the hall and liberate the audience.”
“Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina has now become a tradition and enriches the cultural life of the Capital of Kosovo.”
“A special thanks to the Chopin Piano Fest organisers and we feel very glad to continue our fruitful collaboration during the present edition.”
"The Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina is already a traditional festival of piano music in Prishtina, therefore its citizens are proud that this festival is named after the name of the capital of the Republic of Kosovo, thus represents successfully Kosova and Prishtina in particular within the worldwide community of art and music. The dedication enriches our culture and the cultural life of our city."
"We have e very close bond in the field of culture and to cooperate with your festival specifically makes me feel honored for being part of this cultural movement-if I might call it that"
"I would have said No' to any other offer, but I remembered the [Kosovar] people whom I admire and I was very curious to come. I wish I could stay longer and hear Kosovan musicians perform. Everything was organized better than I would have thought. The piano was exquisite because in a lot of places I have performed it was not good enough. I give them my praise."
