Syzana Jakupi

Syzana Jakupi was born in Peja, Kosovo, where she completed her primary education and two years of classical high school before continuing her professional music studies in Prishtina. In 1991, she graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prishtina, earning the title of Graduated Pianist under the mentorship of Professor Lejla Pula. She completed her master’s studies in the same field in 2013 and is currently pursuing a PhD in Musicology at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Her pedagogical career began in 1986 at the Elementary Music School in Peja, where she worked until 2001. Simultaneously, from 1985 to 2015, she served as a piano instructor at the “Prenk Jakova” Music School in Prishtina. Since 2012, she has been engaged as a lecturer at the “Haxhi Zeka” University in Peja, Faculty of Arts, Department of Music, where she was awarded the title of Professor in 2023. Syzana Jakupi’s contribution as both an artist and educator is widely recognized, especially in her hometown of Peja, where she continues to live and work. 

Alongside her academic career, Syzana Jakupi has maintained an active performance profile, appearing in concerts across Kosovo and on international stages in Turkey (Istanbul), Bulgaria (Kyustendil, Sofia), Germany (Cologne, Frankfurt), North Macedonia (Skopje), Montenegro (Ulcinj), Italy (Palermo), and Hungary (Eger). Her artistic work encompasses solo recitals and collaborations with various artists, both nationally and internationally. Particularly noteworthy is her long-standing involvement with a group of female artists in the project “Promotion of Albanian Classical Music,” which is dedicated to showcasing and preserving the musical heritage of Kosovo and Albania. She is also actively involved in piano duo collaborations as part of this artistic mission.
