Nathanaël Gouin

Nathanaël Gouin is among the most promising young pianists of his generation. He is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician, having performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has been invited to perform at festivals such as La Folle Journée de Nantes and Le Festival International de Piano à La Roque d’Anthéron (both in France), and at prestigious venues including the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and the Cité de la Musique in Paris. He frequently appears both as a soloist and with orchestras.

Born in France in 1988, Nathanaël has been passionate about the diversity of music since the age of four. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, the Juilliard School in New York, and the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany. He is currently an artist-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, Belgium, where he is mentored by Maria João Pires. Ms. Pires has presented him to audiences through the Partituraproject — a concept that brings together musicians of different generations to share the stage — in Japan, Spain, Germany, and other countries.

Nathanaël formed a piano-violin duo with Guillaume Chilemme, with whom he released an acclaimed album of sonatas by Ravel and Canal in 2014. He is the recipient of several awards from international competitions, including First Prize at the Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach (Austria), the Swedish International Duo Competition, and the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon (France). He is also supported by the Fondation d’entreprise Banque Populaire and the Fondation Meyer
