Peter Valentovic is an accomplished conductor highly regarded in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. He has conducted at various opera houses, and philharmonic and symphony orchestras, including the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, and Welsh National Orchestra. He has also conducted numerous orchestral concerts in Japan with ensembles such as the New Japan Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, and Sapporo Symphony Orchestra.
Before completing his conducting studies at the Vienna University of Music and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris, Valentovic was an award-winning concert pianist. He served as a répétiteur at the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Théâtre du Châtelet, and the Vienna State Opera. He received the Viktor Bunzl Scholarship for his exceptional artistic talent and was the principal conductor of the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra in Bratislava from 2018 to 2019.
Valentovic held positions as head coach and assistant conductor at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl in Austria and at the Stadttheater Bozen in Italy, as well as conductor and chorus master at the Cape Town Opera in South Africa, and first conductor at the Istanbul State Opera. He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Sir John Elliot Gardiner, Franz Welser-Möst, and Friedrich Haider. In 2019, he made his conducting debut in China with several prestigious orchestras. He has also worked as a guest repetiteur, language coach, and musical assistant specializing in Russian and Czech repertoire at the Vienna State Opera, and made his successful debut at the Theater an der Wien in 2013 at a gala concert with Edita Gruberová.
Currently, Valentovic serves as the music director of the National Opera Košice in Slovakia and has been collaborating regularly as a conductor and song accompanist with Edita Gruberová since 2013. He has also appeared as a song accompanist with Gruberova at various opera houses worldwide, including the Bavarian State Opera and La Scala in Milan.
