Besart Shala

Besart Shala (1993) started his first piano lessons with Prof. Zana Badivuku-Basha (2002) in his hometown of Peja. He is a participant in numerous competitions at home and abroad. In the competitions of the music foundation ARS Kosova from 2004-2010, he was awarded first, second and third prizes. 

He has triumphed in competitions abroad, such as: in Skopje, 2007 – second place, Barleta Italy, year 2007 – third place. Again Barletta-Italy, year 2009- first places and in Vlora, the nationwide festival EPTA 2019, first place. In the competitions “Young Pianist” in 2010, Pristina, he was awarded three prizes in category D, the prize “Fahri Beqiri”, first place, and the prize young pianist 2010.

Since 2011, he participates seven times in the international festival “CHOPIN PIANO FEST”. Advanced by the Ministry of Education in Prishtina, he graduated from the high school of music “Halit Kasapolli” Peja, and in 2012 he enrolled in the Faculty of Music in Prishtina, Instrumental Piano, class of Prof. Leyla Pula, where he also graduated after master studies.

In March 2018 he held a recital concert in his hometown in Peja, as well as in the festival “CHOPIN PIANO FEST” edition IX, (Skena Juvenis) and in March 2022 he held a recital concert in the concert hall of the Faculty of Arts “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja.

He has worked for two years in a row at the Faculty of Arts – University “Hasan Prishtina” as a piano accompanist, while currently he teaches at the high school “Halit Kasapolli” Peja, and part time also as a piano accompanist at the Faculty of Arts, University “Haxhi Zeka”Peja.
